The New Horizons for Seniors Program provides funding of up to $25, 000 for community based projects run by organizations across Canada that provide programming and resources for seniors. It aims to allow seniors to stay involved in their communities through volunteering, and allow them to do projects that impact them directly.
This can include senior homes, community centres and more. Projects that are run by and for seniors will be prioritized this year. Organizations can submit multiple applications, provided the total amount of funding request does not exceed $25, 000.
This year for the first time, organizations can apply for micro grants of up to $5000 if they require a smaller amount of funding. Additionally, activities aimed at services to seniors will now be admissible for funding, all while staying in a volunteering aspect.
