Announcing the largest housing fund in Canadian history
As part of the National Housing Strategy and the Investing in Canada Plan, our government is launching the National Housing Co-Investment Fund – a $13.2B fund to help Canadians in Vancouver Granville and beyond have a safe place to call home.
We know that affordable housing continues to be top of mind for Vancouver Granville constituents. This new NHS initiative is another major step from our government to help those Canadians who have the greatest need.
The National Housing Co-Investment Fund is expected to create up to 60,000 new homes and repair up to 240,000 units of existing affordable and community housing. This includes more shelter spaces for survivors of violence, transitional and supportive housing, and new ways to make ownership more affordable.
To ensure these investments go even further, the Fund will support projects that attract additional funding from other levels of government, not-for-profit and co-operative housing providers, and the private sector.
